Coralie Bickford-Smith

I've been drooling over these cloth bound novels, designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith, ever since I discovered them at Anthropologie. They're so Victorian-esque and oh-so-classy! Who says never to judge a book by its cover?

Since "I just want them to look pretty on my bookshelf" doesn't justify my buying them all at once, my pact is to purchase the ones I've actually read. Not only does that force me to read them, but I can now sound a bit more sophisticated by engaging in conversation about Charlotte Bronte and holding out my pinky while drinking afternoon tea. So far, Alice in Wonderland, Jane Eyre, A Christmas Carol and The Picture of Dorian Gray are lounging on my bookshelf. I think it's time for some new friends. Looking forward to adding Sense and Sensibility or Emma to the collection soon. Just have to find the time to read them.

Do you love these, or do you love these?

  1. You have a blog!! Eek, so excited for you! I love the name too...just think of the branding possibilities...endless! I absolutely adore these books as well. I don't have any currently but I would love to have them for display purposes. I recommend Emma for you. It's actually a great story, one of my favorites. And if you want to see the movie version, you should check out the version PBS did...it was amazing!
